Northbound: Journey to Freedom is a fully interactive adventure that transports students through the heart of the Underground Railroad. Each mission immerses them in a different region of the journey—Savannah, Chattanooga, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Detroit—where they uncover real history through puzzles, audio narration, and firsthand accounts.

Students will learn how faith, courage, and coded communication guided enslaved people northward. They’ll explore how safe houses were hidden in plain sight, how slave catchers operated under the Fugitive Slave Act, and how freedom seekers used the stars and the wilderness to survive. Every challenge deepens understanding of the people, risks, and resilience behind America’s most daring network for liberation.
