Trap students inside Madam Fillabusta’s escape room and make them unlock the Constitution by solving puzzles on the Preamble, Separation of Powers, Checks and Balances, and the Bill of Rights.
This interactive digital escape room introduces (or reinforces) the foundational structure of the U.S. Constitution in a puzzle-based format. Students progress through four themed rooms—Preamble, Separation of Powers, Checks and Balances, and Bill of Rights—using clues hidden in posters, scrolls, murals, and documents.
Each puzzle requires real content knowledge. Students must sequence the Preamble, match powers to the correct branch, override a veto, complete the impeachment process, and identify amendments represented in visual murals.
It’s civic literacy wrapped inside an deviously ridiculous escape room.

I wasn’t sure about ordering at first since I’d never used this site before, but the process was smooth and straightforward. The lesson plan arrived in a neatly organized zip file, and the game itself was one of the most creative approaches I’ve ever seen for teaching this topic. I’d love to see more escape room–style lessons like this. Highly recommend for any teacher looking for a quick, engaging way to introduce how the U.S. government works.
My 7-8th grade American history students and I really enjoyed this escape room. We played it as a whole-class activity, which worked great! I loved the accompanying handout that promoted student engagement; students took notes as they learned new things about the Constitution. The teacher guide was detailed and helpful. I allowed two class periods, which was the proper amount of time for my groups. Highly recommend!
I just played through this before I gave it to my students. I have to say, I am impressed. The puzzles are clever, especially as you get deeper into the game. But, I have to say I love the last room. The phone conversations with Madam Fillabuster had me in tears. My students are not only going to learn the basics of the constitution but have fun doing it.
