Long Story Short
World War Two had barely ended when a new a terrifying conflict was heating up between the world's two great super powers. For half a century the forces of capitalism and communism turned the world into the world's longest tightrope walk known as the Cold War. With both sides in possession of nuclear weapons neither side dared to start a "real war". Instead America and the Soviet Union tried to one up each other using espionage, sabotage, and proxy wars in far-flung corners of the world. In the end, the Soviet Union came crashing down in 1991 bringing an the Cold War and communism to an end.
